Festival Wear: Green with Envy

There's nothing I love more than a good deal, and this skirt was definitely a steal! I got it for $7.80 at Forever 21, and now it's even cheaper on their website. I actually originally wore a headband rather than a hat to the festival, but then that broke so I sought out another accessory. The hat actually worked better in my humble opinion. The maroon color helps pick up the colors in the floral print. I paired it with a vintage leather purse I got at an antique fair. I love its chain; it almost makes me feel like I'm wearing another piece of jewelry. Though I chose to wear combat books with this outfit, you could easily switch up the shoes if you want to keep it more girly. I could see some beige wedges, flats, or even casual sandals still being very cute.

Festival Wear: Flops and Florals

As a tribute to my recent epic weekend to Coachella, I have decided that my next few looks will be the festival looks that I donned while I was there. I meant to post them before festival season really kicked off, but I was too busy figuring them out last minute! Anyhow, this one is probably my favorite. It's so feminine and fun. Floppy hats have been hogged by the Kentucky Derby crowd for too long--why not wear them while dancing in the desert? I saw an abundance of ladies pulling off similar looks while there, and I must say, I think this look is here to stay for a while. What I love about my felt hat is the little chain detail. I didn't see anyone with the same one (phew)! It adds a little sass, a little class. The romper, while still black, has nice pops of colors in the flowers. I decided to pair it with black combat boots and add a little textural interest by add the braided black belt. I added a simple gold bracelet to tie in the gold accents on the hat, and voila: a chic black look that's still fun to romp around in.

Deadly Denim

This week I wanted to feature a couple looks that could be worn for a night out on the town. This look is perfect for a semi-casual night, like a rooftop party or a trendy pub. In fact, it could easily go from day to night. The denim shirt is totally laid back and fun, and the leather skirt adds a little spice. Its croc-like texture makes it more interesting than the average leather skirt. I really wanted to add a pop of color, and I thought the leopard print watch would be a cute, unexpected piece. To keep things comfy, I thought some black combat boots would be fitting.
